My Marketing Lacks Direction

“I wish I had time for marketing, but I just don’t… and even if I did, I don’t know where to start.”

How often do you market to clients?
And prospects?
Do you have marketing tactics in place to ensure new business in coming in the door?

If there isn’t a healthy stream of new business coming through the door, then everything else becomes immaterial. And if you don’t have the time or resources to be focusing on your marketing, then where is this new business coming from?

It’s no surprise to say that people buy from people they trust. “Trust me, I’m a mortgage broker”. Does that cut it? We don’t think so. Trust (and bias) are built up over time, but often we run out of time, there are too many people to build relationships with, and we can’t even build the marketing collateral we’d like.

Marketing is about generating demand for your business by creating a rhythmic process that keeps your business front of mind for potential clients, and more importantly, existing clients, who now act as your key referrers.

So often we find ourselves conducting marketing tactics haphazardly. We do things again and again and wonder why we are getting the same result – nothing. We don’t track or measure to see if a particular campaign is working so how will we ever know how effective our marketing is. So “how”, we hear brokers ask, do we market efficiently and cost effectively?
