Resources for New Entrants

NCCP Compliance. Lender Accreditations. Claw Backs.

For someone who is new to the industry, the world of mortgage broking can appear daunting. However, the demand for mortgage brokers is increasing with consumer confidence and the need for qualified, ethical and expert professionals.

Mortgage brokers work with clients to determine which loan product best meets their needs and what kind of loan they can service, based on their income and expenses. Knowledge of lenders, their products and policies and a keen financial ‘eye’ are needed to be a successful mortgage broker. But more importantly, if you have great interpersonal skills, the ability to build relationships and a ‘go and get it’ attitude, mortgage broking could be perfect for you!

A broker has to obtain accreditation with lenders in order to sell their lending products. Many brokers join an aggregator to access the group’s wide panel of lenders. These groups provide many additional services to brokers such as software and technology, training, general business support and back office administration. Connective is the fast growing aggregator in the industry.
